New Zealand

No team has scored more international 7s tries on American soil than New Zealand. However, America has become cursed ground for the All Blacks Sevens, as they came in second at the USA Sevens in Las Vegas an astounding five years in a row from 2012-2016, and six of the eight times the USA Sevens has been held in Sin City. New Zealand, over time, has fielded the most dominant 7s team in the world, winning 12 of the 18 World Series titles to date. The All Blacks have also won two 7s World Cups. However, this is an era of change for the team, as legendary coach, Sir Gordon Tietjens, is now at the helm for Samoa. Scott Waldrom coached the All Blacks during the World Series last season, but he’s gone after not seeing the them to a single tournament final, and New Zealand has its third coach in 12 months in Clark Laidlaw.
