Clemson Women Looking To Roar Back For 2018 - Collegiate Rugby Championship
By on

On the men’s side of the Penn Mutual CRC, the quality of play and solid success rate of the Clemson men’s rugby sevens team has been a great addition to the field from the ACRL. Now Clemson’s women’s team is on the rise, and returns to the CRC for the second straight year, looking to build on last year’s inaugural challenge finish.

Clemson women’s coach Nick Whitrow is no stranger to rugby success, having  withed with the High School All American Boys team from 2010-2012 and as assistant coach of the men’s program at Clemson, helping them to two ACRL titles, competed in two Varsity Cup appearances along with the CRC quarterfinals in 2015 and one CRC championship.

This year’s Clemson squad will be led by junior Myrtle Beach native Courtney Morris, senior four year letter winner Olivia Newman local standout Amanda Botelho and Scottish junior exchange student Alice Rigamonti, who is in her first year with the Tigers.

This year’s field should be the strongest ever for the women’s CRC. Let’s see how these rising Tigers roar.
