Arkansas State vs Arizona - Collegiate Rugby Championship

The Arizona Wildcats upset the Arkansas State Red Wolves 7-5 in the quarterfinals. It was Arkansas State’s first loss in three years. Midway through the first half, Alex Goff finally found the try line for the Red Wolves to give them the early advantage. It was a back-and-forth battle. Arizona nearly found a try at the end of the half, but an errant pass cost them that opportunity. Arkansas State had a 5-0 lead at halftime. Early in the second half, Arkansas State survived two concurrent yellow-cards and maintained their fragile lead. Following some big pressure from the Wildcats, Dante Weeks made a phenomenal play to evade defenders and walk in for the tying try. A conversion put the Wildcats up by two with under two minutes to play.
