Arkansas State vs Virginia Tech - Collegiate Rugby Championship
2018-19_PM_Ins_970x90

With quarterfinal hopes hanging by a thread, both teams came out with a chance to control their own destinies, but needing to score a lot of points to do so. Dylan Boast gave Arkansas State the first seven points of the game. The prospect of scoring enough became harder when Isaiah Poku was sent to the bin for tackling a player in the air. Virginia Tech eventually managed to get five points out of the advantage, thanks to Jesse Neighbour, cutting the lead down to two. But Arkansas State’s Tabo Maree got the final try of the half with Boast adding the conversion for a 14–5 lead to start the second half. Boast extended the lead to 19–5 with just three minutes to go.

In the end Arkansas State was happy to win the match but did not do enough to edge Penn State or potential other challengers for a quarterfinal spot: Arkansas State 19, Virginia Tech 5.
