Match Summary

In one of the greatest rivalry in all of American athletics, Navy drew first blood as Phillip Dalke dotted down next to the post. Connor McNerney’s conversion made it 7–0 for the Middies. Navy extended that lead with sixty seconds left as Eric Bleakley galloped away. McNerney easily converted to make it 14–0 with a matter of seconds left in the half.

Dalke added a second try to his resume, giving him three on the morning, to push Navy in front 19–0. Navy’s Denver Fuller added five more points to Army’s misery. The conversion made it 26–0 with three minutes left to play. James Mbony helped Army avoid the shutout with a try in the final minute and a following conversion. But it was way too little, way too late: Navy 26, Army 7.
