Central Washington vs Navy - Collegiate Rugby Championship

In addition to the fans of these respective teams, Penn State fans were particularly curious as to what would happen. Most any scenario other than a draw and the Nittany Lions would enter as the eight seed.

Central Washington struck first with a try by Cole Zarcone for a try, and conversion by Scott Dean. Navy answered back with a try by Cole Euverard and conversion from Connor McNerney to level the contest. Navy got an advantage when Dean was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle. Playing up a man, Euverard dotted it down under the crossbar. McNerney’s conversion put Navy on top 14–7. Eric Beakley’s try put Navy up two scores to end the half.

In the second half it was Navy losing a player, Denver Fuller, to the bin for a high tackle. Navy worked meticulously to burn the clock, winning multiple penalties in the process on the path back to seven men. As time expired, Gardy Lebon added five more points: Navy 24, CWU 7
