NSCRO Semifinal 2, Claremont v. Loyola-Maryland: After a tremendous four minutes of staunch defense for Loyola, Claremont finally broke through with a try by Jeremy Seow and conversion from Matthew Grundlingh. Seow’s second impressive try followed by the simple conversion for Grundlingh brought the half to a close.
A magnificent run by Matt Sill extended Claremont’s lead. Sill set up his kicker for the simple conversion to make it 21–0, a little over a minute into the second half. Down but not out, Loyola answered back with a converted try to cut the lead to fourteen. Justin Blankson-Phipps’ try for Claremont with a minute of play to go put the match beyond the reach of Loyola. On full time, Claremont 26, Loyola-Maryland 7.
