Claremont Colleges vs New Mexico Highlands - Collegiate Rugby Championship

NSCRO Final, New Mexico Highlands v. Claremont: Following the weather delay, the NSCRO championship kicked off from the Talen Energy Stadium. An exciting run for Devarius Miller had the Votos looking for early pints. Though Miller did not finish off the attack, points were still claimed by Voshon Jackson with an unconverted try. Claremont battled back to take the lead when Max Sickinger took an offload Matt Sill for the try under the post. Matthew Grundligh’s conversion provided the 7–5 Claremont lead. That lead, however, did not hold up going into the half thanks to Justin Stallworth’s explosive speed putting the Votos back on top with the converted try to send the teams to the intermission.
A yellow card to Donavan Kandjii, in the first minute of the second half, set the Votos back on defense. Playing a man up, Grundlingh leveled the scores at 12–12. Just before the yellow card was burned, Claremont threatened again but was unable to ground the ball in goal before sliding into touch. The next four minutes were played almost entirely inside the Voto twenty-two. Following a penalty with ninety seconds to play, the Votos finally had the chance to get out of their own half but still struggled to get past the midfield stripe. With no time left for error, Donavan Kandjii fought threw the Claermont defense to give New Mexico Highlands University the 2019 NSCRO 7s national championship.
