Dartmouth vs Clemson - Collegiate Rugby Championship

Plate Semifinal 2, Dartmouth v. Clemson: Turning on the jets, Hunter Dawsey touched down for the first try of the match. Drew Dommel’s conversion put the Clemson Tigers in the lead. Luke Bienstock’s try and Mike Weir’s conversion tied the match at 7–7. A second quick score for the Big Green, again from Bienstock, made it 14–7 for Dartmouth. Matthew Absher was open on the wing to claim Clemson’s second try, but bobbled the ball momentarily, allowing the Dartmouth defender to catch up and hold him up in goal. Moments later, it was Brennon Adams testing the Big Green defense in the other corner of the pitch, but he was easily forced into touch, giving Dartmouth a lineout. An infraction gave Clemson a five-meter attacking scrum. Several minutes of zeroes on the clock and Clemson inside the Dartmouth twenty-two finally turned into points when Joel Jaldin gave a dummy look to pull Dartmouth off his line and slid in for the try untouched. Dommel was just off the mark on the conversion, keeping Dartmouth in front at the intermission.
Clemson took a three-point lead a minute into the second half with a try for Matthew Absher. Hunter Dawsey’s remarkable pace moved Clemson into a two-score advantage.
