Life vs Notre Dame - Collegiate Rugby Championship

Life entered expecting a sound victory and hoping to outscore Notre Dame by at least twenty-two to edge Arizona for the top seed in the quarterfinal. The Running Eagles’ first points came from Ryan Rees with an unconverted score in the corner. Rees’s magic worked again for the second try, this one closer to the post. Mitch Wilson’s conversion made it 12–0, getting Life halfway to its target. A minute later, it was Wilson getting in for a seven-pointer and a 19–0 first-half lead.

With Austin White’s try, Life had reached the points necessary to pass Arizona in the seeding. (26–0). Llife’s George Phelan was sent to the sin bin for a dangerous tackle, giving the Irish a chance to get some points on the board and maybe spoil Life’s hope for a top seed. Dan Conmy’s try momentarily put Life’s target in jeopardy but Life was too good to be denied. Right from the restart, Duncan Van Schalkwyk tore down the pitch and offloaded to Harvey Wheeler for the try. Though Van Schalkwyk did add the conversion. With that score and a 33–5 line, Life was back on track. And Van Schalkwyk was rewarded with his own try two passes after a great move by Wheeler.
