The Life Running Eagle Women continued their incredible tournament run with a 24-0 shutout of Navy. The first half got started with a bang when Life’s Megan Rom put an unbelievable fend on a defender and bounded towards the try line, only to have the ball stripped at the last second by a speedy Kerri Hands. Off the restart, Kimberly Semiglia worked her way to the line and scored to give the Running Eagles the opening score. At the end of the half, a penalty try was awarded to Life and the conversion gave them a 12-0 lead after seven minutes. Early in the second half, Nicole Strasko found room along the edge and went over for a try untouched to extend Life’s lead to 19-0. Later on, Darian Lovelace was sent to the sin bin for the Running Eagles to give Navy a chance to get back in it. Life added one more try at the horn to cap off a strong match that earned them a spot in the Women’s Cup Final.
