Lindenwood vs Virginia Tech - Collegiate Rugby Championship

Men’s Pool A, Lindenwood v. Virginia Tech: With the winner securing a quarterfinal appearance and the loser almost certainly left to a consolation bracket, the defending CRC champion Lions of Lindenwood took on the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Lions had to work for it but got on the board in the fifth minute with a try from Lorenzo Thomas. Jesse Neighbour’s try for Virginia Tech provided the leveler shortly before the hooter. But that was still plenty time for the Lions to break the deadlock with Jack Desmond’s converted try to end the half.
Thomas’s second try, coming at the start of the second half, made it 17–5 for the Lions. Lindenwood’s Wesley White made it 22–5 with a diving try in the left corner. Samuel Chapman’s try as the half wound to an end made sure the defending champions advanced into the quarterfinal. To close the match, Evan Williams’s try set the final score. On full time, Lindenwood 32, Virginia Tech 5.
