Notre Dame vs Virginia Tech - Collegiate Rugby Championship

The Virginia Tech Hokies opened tournament play with a 36-19 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Virginia Tech controlled the game early on. Following a nasty penalty to Notre Dame, Andrew Haskell got the scoring started with two back-to-back tries. The Hokies turned the ball over, and Notre Dame was able to get on the board thanks to Spencer Scannell. Kessler Richard then scored a beautiful try off a spin move, and a conversion was added to even the game at half.
A brilliant sweeping move and crisp passing from (#5) to (#1) to give the Hokies and early second half lead. After the restart the Hokies regain possession and work their way down the right wing side for their second try of the second half(#4). The Hokies push deep into ND territory again and score their third try of the second half (#1). ND score a late try to cut the deficit. 36-18 final.
