Penn State Women vs Lindenwood Women - Collegiate Rugby Championship

Lindenwood took down defending Women’s CRC champions Penn State 14-5 in the Women’s Cup semifinal. Lindenwood dominated the first half of play, and after some gritty play in deep, Jennese Bacon scored for Lindenwood to take a 7-0 lead. Minutes later, Davon Thomas found paydirt and gave Lindenwood a 14-0 lead at halftime. Penn State started to find their game early in the second half, and after numerous attempts at the line, finally got over with a Beth Rose try. The Nittany Lions cut the deficit to 14-5. Penn State started threatening again, but had their attempt at the try line cut short by a called forward pass. Out of the scrum restart, Lindenwood began threatening and kept the ball at midfield. Penn State needed two desperation tries at the end to complete the comeback, but didn’t get past the Lindenwood 22. Lindenwood will take on Life for the Women’s Cup.
