Rowan vs Drexel - Collegiate Rugby Championship

Rowan entered the match against Drexel with high expectations built on two wins earlier in the day. For Drexel, the match was looked to as a potential antiseptic for the bitter taste left in the team’s mouth after a drubbing (29–0) by Fordham. A yellow card against Rowan just a minute into the match gave Drexel hope. Taking full advantage, Drexel scored an unconverted try to end the card. Ill-discipline cost Rowan again as a second first-half yellow card gave Drexel a chance to build on its narrow lead. Instead, it was Rowan scoring during the yellow to level the match.

Unfortunately for Rowan, the score did not burn the entirety of the sin bin, allowing Drexel to take the restart in for five points. At the half it was Drexel 10, Rowan 5.

The second half started with Rowan dotting down to even the teams at 10–10. Rowan made it a lead with a try under the post and conversion on the cusp of the thirteenth minute. After looking like Rowan may pad that lead, it was Drexel streaking down the pitch for a try under the post. The conversion coming with thirty-two seconds left drew the scores. With just enough time for one last phase of play Rowan came away with a converted try and the win: Rowan 24, Drexel 17.
