Several minutes of work paid off for the Wildcats with a self-converted try in the left corner from Jon Rogers, drawing boos from the partisan crowd cheering on the local team. As the final minutes of the half ticked away, Arizona extended the lead with Matt Rogers’ score. the Hawks scored right away in response thanks to Jonathan Ahern. Matthew Lydon’s conversion attempt from the far right side was on the money, cutting the halftime deficit to five.
The second half started the way of the Hawks with a quick converted try for the lead. The lead was only temporary as Kyle Fulton galloped past Hawks defenders for the Wildcats’ try. The conversion by Rogers put the Wildcats on top 19–14. An injury to Arizona captain Matt Rogers sent him off the pitch in visible pain. Jonah Eldridge coming off the bench in this match, scampered in for the try to put Arizona on top by two scores. On full time, Arizona 26, St. Joe’s 14.
