UCLA vs PSU Penn State - Collegiate Rugby Championship

UCLA advanced to the Men’s Cup semifinal with a 19-12 win over Penn State. The Nittany Lions had the early upper hand, but couldn’t move the ball past the UCLA 22. That was when the UCLA offense got to work, and Seb Sharpe was able to break through on a great step through the middle. Off the ensuing kick, Penn State was pinned deep in their own end when Sharpe moved to cut off a pass and waltzed over the try line for his second score of the half. The Bruins went into halftime with the 14-0 lead. Out of the break, Niall Barry took over for UCLA, weaving his way through the defense and scoring to bring their lead to 19-0. The Nittany Lions were able to get on the board with about two minutes remaining thanks to a great run by Joe Kelly down the touch line. He fended off a couple of defenders and went over untouched. They tried to keep the pressure on, and scored again to make it interesting going into the final moments of the match. However, they couldn’t control the ensuing kick and UCLA was able to ice the match.
