Virginia Tech vs Boston College - Collegiate Rugby Championship

In the first game of the day at PPL Park, the Boston College Eagles drew the Virginia Tech Hokies 17-17. Boston College’s Danny Schatzman capitalized on a turnover to give the Eagles the early 5-0 lead. Minutes later, Sam Donohue took a great feed from Michael Cirbee to tie the game up. Just before halftime, Paul Caron powered over the try line and added a conversion to put Virginia Tech up by seven. To start the second half, Thomas Duggan bolted past the Virginia Tech defenses for a try. A conversion for BC tied the game at 12. They would add another three minutes into the half from Joseph D’Antonio to re-claim the lead. The Hokies knotted up the game with a speedy try from Michael Cirbee. Nicholas Savage nearly had a try at the final horn, but it was ruled no try.
