Virginia Tech vs UCLA - Collegiate Rugby Championship

The UCLA Bruins won a date with the Dartmouth Big Green in the Plate Final as they beat the Virginia Tech Hokies 27-10. UCLA opened things up in a big way with a coast-to-coast try from Seb Sharpe. They would add another as Cian Berry darted through the Hokie lines and in for a try. The Bruins held an early 10-0 advantage. Virginia Tech tried to respond, as they brought the ball near the try line, but couldn’t quite break through. Then, Conor Fay of Virginia Tech barreled over a defender and went in untouched past the try line to bring the Hokies back in it. At the end of the half, Race Noulder lived up to his name as he beat everybody to the try line to give UCLA a 15-5 advantage at the half. At the start of the second half, Fay intercepted a UCLA pass and dove past the try line to bring the Hokies back to within a try of the lead. UCLA responded with a beautiful pass from Ben Francis to Zach Bonte for a try to re-gain the 10-point lead. Francis then added a try of his own after he head-faked a Tech defender and moved around another to score an incredible try. Berry added a conversion on top to seal the match for UCLA.
