Boston U

Team Summary

Founded in 1839, Boston University is located in the heart of Boston. BU is a private research university and has over 33,000 students. BU is categorized as an R1: Doctoral University and was ranked 37th among undergraduate programs nationally in 2017. Boston University Women’s Rugby Football Club (BUWRFC) was founded in 1998 and will be celebrating their 20th anniversary in the Fall of 2018. Each year we grow as a team and try to compete at a higher level then before. Since we are a club sport, we are able to encourage new players to come out each season to learn about and play this great sport. BUWRFC was a founding member of the Northeast D1 Women’s Conference. Under the guidance of BU’s head coach, Nicholas Hildebidle, in the Fall of 2017, BUWRFC finished 2nd in the highly competitive Northeast D1 Conference and qualified for the USA Rugby Fall round of 8. In the spring, BU focuses on 7’s, and this has lead to immense opportunity and growth for the team. In the Spring of 2017, the Terriers placed second at the American Collegiate Rugby Association’s 7s championship. BU is looking forward to putting their best foot forward and competing against the many other talented collegiate teams at the CRC’s.
